FREQUENTLY ASKED

Short questions, straight answers

Weorclip is still in beta — it is being actively developed. You may run into bugs; every problem you report goes into the next release.

Is Weorclip free?

Yes. It is free to download and free to use, and you do not need an account.

Are my videos uploaded to a cloud?

No. Downloading, editing and exporting all run on your own computer. Your footage is never uploaded to any server; when the edit is done, the file is on your disk.

Which sites can I download from?

More than 1500 video and audio platforms, YouTube included. Paste a link and Weorclip recognises the source; you pick the format and the quality.

What are the system requirements?

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). The interface adapts to 125–175% display scaling and to small screens. Disk space depends on the installation type: a Light installation takes about 350 MB, a Full one about 21 GB.

What is the difference between a Full, Light and Custom installation?

A Full installation comes with every feature ticked: about 16 GB to download and about 21 GB on disk. A Light installation is for downloading and editing only: about 150 MB to download and about 350 MB on disk. With Custom you pick the components one by one; each is listed on the setup screen with a description and its approximate size. A Full installation brings: automatic subtitles (~600 MB), audio cleanup, audio separation (~1 GB), read-aloud and dubbing (~9 GB on a computer with a graphics card), offline translation (~2.5 GB), smart subtitles and AI editing (~2.8 GB), object tracking, face tracking and smart framing, and speaker colours.

Can I add a feature I didn’t pick during setup?

Yes. The app never downloads components on its own; when you open a feature you didn’t pick, it says «This feature wasn’t selected during setup» and its «Open setup» button opens the installer with that component ticked.

Do the AI features need anything?

Automatic subtitles, translation and the AI editing tools run on your own computer with the components you chose during setup; a Full installation brings them all. A few generative features, such as cover generation, ask for a provider key (Gemini or OpenAI), added once in Settings.

Can I use what I download however I like?

Copyright in what you download stays with its owner. Using that content only in ways you are entitled to is your responsibility; Weorclip is a tool — it grants no rights and transfers none.

What does beta mean here?

The program works and is used every day, but it is still being built: a feature may not behave the way you expect. Your data is not at risk — everything stays on your own disk. Report what you run into on Discord or by e-mail and it goes into the next release.

How do updates arrive?

The app updates itself. When a new version is out, a card appears on screen; one click downloads and applies it. Only the changed files come down, and every update is verified by signature. If now isn’t a good time, press «Later»; if you don’t like the new version, «Roll back to the previous version» in Preferences takes you back.

Where are downloaded files saved?

By default into Windows’ Downloads folder. In Settings you can pick another folder, set separate folders for landscape, portrait, MP3, GIF, WebP and cropped-scene output, and set the file-name template yourself.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Editing, subtitles, censoring and exporting all work offline — they run on your own computer. The internet is only needed to download a video, to fetch components during setup, and to check for updates.

What should I do if a download fails?

On a temporary error the program retries by itself. If the error is permanent, the reason is written on screen. The most common cause is a video that is region-locked or members-only. If it keeps happening, press the «Report a problem» button: it gathers the job log, the versions and the setup details and copies them to the clipboard, so you only need to paste them into Discord or an email.

Do I need the browser extension?

No, the app works without it. The Edge or Chrome extension lets you right-click a video to download it and capture clips from the browser. An illustrated guide opens at the end of setup, and the «Install the browser extension» shortcut in the Start menu is there if you want it later. If needed after an update, the app shows a «Reload the extension» prompt.

Which languages is Weorclip in?

Both the app and the setup screen come in 13 languages: Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Indonesian, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Arabic. In Arabic the screen runs right to left. You can switch the language in Preferences.

Does anything stay behind when I uninstall Weorclip?

The app, its engines and its models are removed completely. It asks separately about your live-capture clips and the sign-ins and saved projects inside the app: say no and they stay on your computer, so you can pick up where you left off if you reinstall.
